Measurement of Diameter of Spinal Canal in Nepalese Population

Introduction: A typical vertebra has a ventral body, vertebral arch, and foramen, where the spinal cord, meninges, related vessels occupy. Depending on position amount of narrowing that occurs over time, nerve or cord may get compressed, causing pain, tingling, numbness, and/or weakness. This study was aimed at to access anteroposterior transverse diameter canal.
 Methods: All together 75 dried human vertebrae were gathered from Chitwan Medical College’s Department Anatomy. Gender ethnicity unidentified. damaged vertebras excluded study. The diameters axes measured. Photographs taken, results analyzed. statistical carried out using Microsoft Excel 2019 assessed in terms frequency distribution.
 Results: Among dry studied, anterioposterior cervical between 9.77mm 14.16mm 16.35mm 24.63mm respectively. In thoracic region, 11.82 mm 15.53 ranged 13.61mm 18.96 mm. lumbar 15.53mm respectively.
